Colored Contact Lens Guide

This guide explains how to choose, handle and care for colored contact lenses. It is general information and does not replace an eye examination or professional fitting.

1. Get a professional eye exam and fitting

Colored and decorative contact lenses are medical devices in many markets. A licensed eye-care professional should measure your eyes, confirm fit and advise which lens specifications and power are appropriate. Use a valid prescription where required.

2. Read the product specifications

• Power: Select only the power prescribed for each eye. Plano/0.00 changes appearance only and still requires proper fitting.
• Diameter (DIA): The overall lens width. A larger graphic diameter can create a more enlarging visual effect, but fit and comfort depend on professional assessment.
• Base curve (BC): The curvature of the lens. Do not assume that every design fits every eye.
• Replacement period: Daily, monthly, 6-month and yearly labels describe the maximum replacement schedule under the product instructions; they do not mean continuous wear.
• Water content and material: Refer to the individual product page and packaging because specifications vary by design.

3. Choose color and effect

Natural enhancement styles blend with the iris for a subtle result. Enlarging styles use a more defined limbal ring. Bright or high-opacity designs are intended to show more clearly on dark eyes. Results vary with natural eye color, lighting, makeup and screen settings.

4. Safe handling

1. Wash and dry your hands thoroughly before touching lenses.
2. Inspect the lens for damage and confirm it is not inside out.
3. Use only fresh contact-lens disinfecting solution recommended for your lens type. Never rinse or store lenses in water or saliva.
4. Never share lenses and never exceed the wearing or replacement schedule supplied with the product.
5. Do not sleep, swim or shower in lenses unless your eye-care professional and the product instructions specifically permit it.

5. Stop use if symptoms occur

Remove the lenses and contact an eye-care professional promptly if you experience redness, persistent pain, unusual discharge, light sensitivity, blurred or reduced vision, or discomfort that does not resolve.
